measure

The secret to a perfect fit & warm whippet is to measure correctly. Stand your whippet foursquare. Looking down on your dog, gently push the neck back (upright), to where it joins the body & makes a definite "corner" with the back & neck as shown. Take the measurement in inches from the corner to just where tail starts, so no neck & no tail, only back. Be sure to run the tape over the spine.

Take the measurement three times, yes that's right, three times, to ensure you get the right measurement! This is essential to a perfect fitting coat. Please do not add any length as this will result in too large a coat. For waist measurements take this where the waistband will sit on the smallest part of the waist.

tips

For fidgety dogs that dont like a tape measure down their back, pop a towel over them first so they cant feel the tape. To weigh your whippet, first weigh yourself on a set of scales, then carry your whippet & weigh both of you. Deduct your weight from the combined weight.

salon fit service

We offer an exclusive "salon fit" service to ensure your darling has perfectly fitting couture, so it's essential to correctly measure your whippet's back length (no neck, no tail), waist, weight & build type on the order page. After all that's what couture is all about! However we can only base your whippet's coat size on the measurements supplied. The perfect fit of our coats is based upon the back length, weight, waist & condition of your whippet, therefore our coat sizes are not indicative of your whippet's length only. Should you require any assistance, please contact us, as we are here to help.

care

Gently brush the coat to remove dust and mud. If a wash is required, all coats are gentle cycle machine washable in cool water. For best results buckle the coat up and place in a lingerie wash bag. Line dry out of direct sun. Do not add fabric conditioner, tumble dry or iron. We recommend buckling the coat's velcro fastening when not in use to ensure the velcro doesn't catch fabric & lose it's grip. You can use a needle to remove any hairs or fibre from the velcro fastening if required.
